Level of Lucidity (1-10): 3 | Dream Signs: Impossible creature, weird situation, strange lighting, weird setting, | Mood: Uncomfortable
Myself, my younger sister and her friend were in a bunker of some kind. The walls were white and somehow metalic, the lighting made everything a strange bright blue or grey like a high contrast photograph. We had a good-sized room off a long corridor to ourselves and although we saw few people around, there was the impression there were lots of people around. Our room was empty except for our three sleeping-bags and some belongings in one corner. We seemed to be evacuees of some kind, or sheltering from something- it would have been something like a nuclear war, there was a sence that we couldn't leave. I left alone on a stange and long journey down sloped corridors and up stairs (the setting may be connected with the fact I am playing through the Halo trilogy on my new x-box, seems familiar in that way) and eventually came to a comuniactions room through sliding doors. The room was lit with red lights and I spoke to a tall thin woman about contacting relatives. They weren't family members I see reguarly although maybe the first people I would think of in a crisis other than people I see every day. I then returned quite calmly to my sister and friend, none of us seemed to be wondering about our parents.
Then it got more interesting.
The three of us left, me bringing mith me my laptop (for no aparent reason) and we settled in a balcony-like corridor with glass on either side, looking in to a theatre-like setup. It was darker here than everything else, the surroundings more dark blues and greys. We sat up there and talked for a while, until, about to leave, I noticed a foot-long butterly. It had large red wings, folded somewhere between how a bird and a moth folds it's wings- I couldn't see it's body. It was crawling along the ground. Part of me knew I was dreaming- I recently had a biology class which covered the fact that insects can't get this large. I thought it was pretty just the same and pointed it out to the others. My sister's friend said it was horrible and I disagreed, then before I could do anything she'd shouted 'It shouldn't be in here!', grabbed my laptop and was violently scraping it over the butterfly. I screamed at her that it was probably very rare and chased her and my sister down some steps and away. Then I returned sadly to my butterfly, thinking it was dead. It's wings turned out to be feathers which now looked like a rumpled pile on the ground, some in huge detatched clumps. then the pile of red feathers moved and I quickly dug around inside. The butterfly's body was bright orange and fuzzy with fur like a bumblebee all over. The fur was smooth and not flawed dispite loosing it's wings and it didn't look as if it was missing limbs. Now I saw it it looked more like a bulky rounded grass-hopper. It crawled onto my hand and I stroked it.
It was around this time I was woken by a sreechy fire alarm in my road and was unable to get back into the dream as I sometimes can.
